People say Burnaby like it is one place. It is not. Burnaby North is where I have the most history, and where I have watched Brentwood grow from an afterthought into one of the most dense, vibrant town centres in the region. South Burnaby has its own character, anchored around the Metrotown build out. East Burnaby is quieter and greener, the pocket you have to be selective in to find the gems.
That is why I always start with the same two questions. Paint me your perfect Saturday morning, and tell me the truth about your commute. A ten minute trip versus a forty five minute one can decide whether you want a tower at Brentwood, a value building near Metrotown, or a detached street up on Capitol Hill. Pick the wrong side of Burnaby for your life and you will feel it every day. So which of the three sounds like your Saturday?

Burnaby prices swing hard by district: new towers at Brentwood, correcting value buildings near Metrotown, and detached homes up on the Burnaby Heights and Capitol Hill slopes. - Nature seekers with a Surrey commute. East Burnaby has quiet, green pockets and strong highway access, ideal if you work toward Surrey but do not want to live there.
