Metrotown is where Burnaby concentrates its city energy. The skyline of residential towers keeps growing around Metropolis at Metrotown, the largest shopping centre in British Columbia, and the Expo Line runs you to downtown Vancouver with no transfer. Everything a condo buyer wants within a block, and the crowds that come with it.
The part people underrate is the green space. Central Park sits a few blocks west along Kingsway, with mature second growth forest, trails, and Swangard Stadium. So the trade here is not urban versus nature, it is tower living with both at your door. The real question is building selection: age, construction, and strata health separate the good buys from the headaches in a tower market this size. That is exactly where I earn my keep.

The biggest shopping centre in British Columbia, anchoring the neighbourhood with hundreds of stores, restaurants, and a cinema. Love it or dodge it on weekends, it is the engine of the area.
Central Park
About 86 hectares of mature second growth forest, walking trails, pitch and putt, and Swangard Stadium, a short walk west of the towers. The morning loop here is one of Burnaby's best routines.
Crystal Mall
The area's Asian shopping centre, with one of the region's best food courts and a produce market locals swear by.
