Olympic Village pulls the person who would normally buy downtown but wants it a little more relaxed. Same proximity to everything, less noise and rush. You are on the water, on the seawall, a short walk from Science World, and still in the middle of the city. It is downtown with the volume turned down, and that is exactly why I chose to live here.
The people are the part you feel first. It is a community of dog walkers, patio hosts, and folks who plan their whole summer around being right here. I do not travel in the summers. Olympic Village runs from entry condos up to larger waterfront homes, and two units that look similar on paper can be worlds apart once you know the building. - Buyers who will call before they write an offer. The buildings here are a mixed bag: some were built beautifully, others carry ongoing issues, and knowing which is which is a conversation over coffee, not a paragraph on a webpage. Ask me before you write an offer.

My dog and I walk the seawall most days, past Hinge Park and Habitat Island, the restored wetland right on the water. It is the kind of front yard you do not get anywhere else downtown.
Morning bread, afternoon matcha
Mornings mean a sourdough loaf from Fife Bakery. Afternoons might be Nana's Green Tea for matcha, or a stop at Terra Breads or Small Victory. And on a warm evening, the move is a seawall walk around False Creek to Uno Gelato at Stamps Landing. Small, well run, walkable places, the way a neighbourhood should feel.
Patios made for warm nights
Tap & Barrel and Craft Beer Market anchor the big waterfront patios, with Ophelia and Dear Gus for dinner. The north facing homes look straight at the downtown skyline and soak up summer light, though they do run darker in winter, worth knowing before you pick a unit.
